For some reason I've never been able to associate the Saami with the Swedes. More with the Norwegians and the Finns, even if for different reasons.

It is unlikely that they succumb in big numbers to the same problems of a liberal society. They being minorities, rejecting what they pereceive as part of an attempt to assimilate them is likely to become a sign of identity.
