One should bear in mind that the closer that Europe gets to Russia, the farther it can get away from America and from the Atlantic Alliance. Let us not forget the reasons behind the creation of NATO and the latest moves of expansion of NATO into the area of influence of Russia, as in a clear provocation and attempt to isolation.

America, although at the peak of its power, has entered in the fast lane for its decline. Its influence over Europe is shaking and if it lost Europe as an allied it would be much isolated in a moment that is critical. At present they can only clinge to Britain's influence in Europe. Even the existance of NATO has been put into question.

But if Europe sensed Russia as a threat, then things would change and Atlantism, good old Westernism, would receive some oxygen.

I was told just a few hours ago that British newspapers today are showing much hostility against Russia after the death by poisoning of the ex-KGB spy and defector, Alexander Litvinenko.

I was also told of some comment on the British tabloid The Sun, along the lines that Britain should upgrade its nuclear facilities to meet "the New Russia". I set myself to search for that comment on the digital edition of The Sun and other British newspapers, but unfortunately I couldn't find it.

One thing to notice is that Alexander Litvinenko was a former KGB agent, he defected in 2000 and he was given shelter in Britain. If Russia is not the totalitarian USSR anymore, why would Britain shelter a former spy and defector, introducing this way an element of open hostility against Russia?

Perhaps the latest moves of approaches between the EU and Russia could answer this question.

Next follows related news on the case of Litvinenko. Also a news on the disruption of a EU-Russia summit in Helsinki. Not directly related.. or is it?

Are you nuts? This forum is supposed to promote European unity and Nationalism?

America is not European. America bad. Russia is European. Russia is good.

Atlantism or American influence in Europe is extreemly bad for us. If we were free from it we would be the one superpower. More powerful then the US. The Euro would be more powerful than the dollar. The Arabs would be our friends, not our enemies.

Nato and Atlantism was the result of the for Europe very devastating WW2. After 1945 America has ruled Europe.

It has been utter disaster. We need to free ourselves, dismantle Nato and kick the stoopid hillbilly troops to were they belong.
