Leaving aside any speculations about the courage of the Germans, the fact is that the British government has already announced that they are preparing to retire their troops from Iraq in 2007. If they do, what they will leave behind is a country --which was stable before they invaded-- in the brink of a civil war. Worse, likely to fall in the hands of Islamists.
