Default Re: World War 3 In 2006?

Well, yes. But things should not be mixed up.

The war being waged by Israel in the Middle East should not be Europe's business. The conflict with Islam will come. No doubt about that. But, how was Iraq under Saddam an Islamic enemy of Europe? How is Syria one?

Both countries are.. were laicist. The Baath Party both in Iraq and in Syria is a nationalist party. Nationalism goes against the nature of Islam. The invasion of Iraq was geared to serve the interests of Israel and America. The result has been an enormous rise of support to Islamism in a country where Islamists kept a low profile to avoid being hit by Saddam's regime.

On the other hand, I am well aware of the true face of Islamism. A Hizbullah's religious leader no long ago talked of the Jihad to conquer all the way to al-Andalus. An official magazine of Hamas for children depicted the Giralda of Seville (a monument from the al-Andalus time) as talking to the Palestinean children telling them to liberate her from the hands of the Christians.

Still, I don't see why we should stain a fight for our survival and preservation, a just and fair fight, with the obscure interests of Israel and America.
