Well, yes and no. Losinyy Ostrov is partially contained within Moskva's ring road, and deserves its name, for there are indeed Los [elk] still there. I used to live nearby, and now and then on a walk saw a Detel' [Greater Spotted Woodpecker], and once an Ondatr [big rat like thing that swims in the river. We don't have em in Anglii, much less a Name for them]. A friend of mine once saw a Kunitsa in the town, too [Pine Marten].
