True, as I explained above the notion of a nation-state(or something closely resembling it) can be found in ancient history. China also had a similar concept in its idyll of the Confucian polity. The modern version is a result of Westphalia.

True. There is certainly a difference between the 'West' of the Medieval, Renaisance, and Baroque periods and the 'West' which is largely a result of the Enlightenment. To use Spenglerian terms, he seems to oppose more Western 'civilization', but it must not be confused with Western 'culture'.
