They are just a leftover...whats a far bigger problem and a strain in relationship is the fact that as a direct consequence people were displaced and this created tense situation that continues to this very day.
Relations between two people can be good and satisfying for both sides only when they are living besides each other without intruding on their own land. I am a big opponent of multi-culturalism as IMO it can bring nothing good as has been proven throughout history.
