Re: Why do Finno-Ugrs sing Ukrainian Bylyny?
Medieval Rus' was the Russian State. Names evolve. In the 11th century England was called Angelcyn, now it is called England. The country is the same. In the 11th century Russia was called Rus', now it is called Rossiya. The country is the same. Historical memory of Ukrainians does not reach further than the 16th century, and only from that time can we speak of Ukrainians. The so-called "Kievan" age is an age in Russian, not Ukrainian, political and cultural history.
