BOB GELDOF
For twenty years now Bob Geldof has been browbeating us with the horrors of Dark Continent. In 1985 it was the odious single 'We are the World' and its infuriating European counterpart. This year, following up on last Christmas' lurid 20th anniversary remix, he successfully mounted a megalomaniacal campaign, recruiting a huge roster of establishment artists, which culminated in last July's grotesque concerts and the largest global broadcast in history. As if gripped by a fever of irrational fantasies and woolly-brained Socialism, for weeks the monolithic liberal media whipped the masses into a frenzy, blitzing our consciousness and infecting the public mind - every day, any time, everywhere, anywhere, any time, all the time, over and over - with the same virulent message.
REPUGNANT IDEOLOGY
What we find repellent about Geldof and his gang is not just their self-promotion as fashionably 'caring' Rock stars, but the fact that, while he ostensibly targeted the politicians attending the G8 summit, in reality he has targeted us, the ordinary citizens of Europe. Every clear-headed, intelligent person knows that the horrors of the Dark Continent are largely self-inflicted: corruption, maladministration, incompetence, ignorance, and violence are primarily what has made Africa chronically dysfunctional. It was not debt or trade rules that terrorised the farmers in Zimbabwe or wielded the machetes in Rwanda. By refusing to focus on Africa's corruption and violence, by focusing pressure on 'our' democratically-elected leaders, and by campaigning mostly here, the implication Geldof makes is that poverty in Africa is our fault and that it is therefore our moral responsibility to empty our pockets and ask our leaders to do it again for us for the next decade or more. The Make Poverty History campaign, couched as it is in enlightened principles and humanist rhetoric, is in fact a slanderous, guilt-mongering fest that has more to do with relieving the sense of Christian guilt that afflicts mostly White, liberal, self-indulgent Rock and Pop music multi-millionaires than with offering objective solutions to the world's problems. In the process, they sell millions of albums and retain their fashionable status as part of the metropolitan elites.
CHRISTIAN SOCIALISTS
Egregiously, instead of standing up for the interests and dignity of its citizens, the establishment across Europe has lent legitimacy to Geldof's foul-mouthed diatribes, no matter how absurd. Politicians have fallen over themselves to join the bandwagon. Christian British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who sanctimoniously called Africa 'the scar in the conscience of the world' as he sent young Britons to be butchered in Iraq on fabricated pretexts, and his Socialist Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, have fully endorsed Geldof's campaign by demanding debt cancellation, a long-term doubling of aid to Africa, and the crushing of the European farmer, all paid by you through your taxes. Did you sign up for this?
DEEP DEPRESSION
What about the consequences? When Geldof talks of saving millions of lives every year, his saccharine humanitarianism obscures the fact that Africa cannot even feed itself. With no mention of the need for sex education and readily-available contraception in order to control already explosive population growth, Geldof offers us a teeming planet, hungrier, more violent, more diseased, and more dependent on doubling aid than ever before. If you think we have an immigration and refugee problem now, you ain't seen nothing yet. And as we run out of kiddies in Europe and dull, unskilled welfare-recipients continue to multiply like bacteria, we will also eventually run out of money. Within two generations, talk of a Third World will be meaningless, for the Third Word will be the whole world. By the time you retire, you will be living in an crowded, overpriced megalopolis, surrounded by crumbling infrastructure, failing public services, blacked-out supermarkets, and worthless paper money showing Geldof, Diana, and St Tony Blair. Does this sound to you like an intelligent way of running world affairs?
Fuck them and their utopias.
INSULT
Yes, we enjoy material prosperity. But this prosperity is hard-won, the product of the military valour, disciplined labour, intellectual genius, and selfless thrift of our ancestors. It was not just blind luck that enabled us to rebuild a continent that only sixty years ago was bankrupt and in ruins. Moreover, for decades we have been leaders by example in our humaneness and generosity, even when it went against our interests, with Third World nations stricken by tragedy and need. Such sentiments have typically remained unrequited and been repaid by ever-bigger demands. Geldof is an insult to all of us.
ANGRY YOUTH
We therefore see it fit to voice our opposition to this insanity. Somebody has got to tell this scum that we have not all signed up for their programme, and that we never wanted it, asked for it, or had the opportunity to vote on the issue.
With the establishment against us, we cannot match Geldof's circus, but we can beat them where it matters most: our music.
BLACK METAL WAR
Instead of a single containing maudlin hippie values and five infuriating minutes of brainless noise, we will be retaliating with a full-length compilation CD, with an exclusive track list of high-quality songs from the most talented underground Black Metal artists of European heritage from both sides of the Atlantic. The material is to be written specifically for the compilation and contain a relevant message. The graphics will be done to a high professional standard and there will be an extensive booklet with information about each artists as well as a statement repudiating contemporary cultural trends, as embodied in Geldof's hate-filled campaign.
SUPERIORITY
If Geldof embodies the vicious establishment and its abhorrent views, we aim to present a saner alternative. To us, Geldof and his gang of balding, middle-aged, rootless, raceless, urban, liberal, cosmopolitan, guilt-ridden, self-hating, self-righteous, surgically-enhanced, materialist, superficial, Christian / Socialist hedonist celebrities, socialites, and perverts represent everything that is wrong and bad about postmodern civilisation. They stand for an insulting, repugnant ideology of wretched guilt and pathetic self-apologising, leading to humiliating and ongoing geographical, historical, ontological, and epistemological concessions, with the consequent irreversible decline in European cultural influence, economic power, political representation, and demographic presence - not just abroad but in our own traditional homelands. Their egalitarian doctrines ultimately lead to a world of cement, disease, poverty, violence, and overcrowding, where rich human diversity has been forcibly homogenised and where everywhere has been turned into a modernist, run-down nowhere of fast food, tabloid press, and downmarket daytime television.
In contrast, ours is an elitist ideology of self-affirmation, self-assertion, and self-realisation, through which we are free to find, remember, and celebrate our traditional identities, without guilt or apology to anyone. Rooted in the mists of prehistory, woven into a rich tapestry of ancient myths and legends, in harmony with Nature's eternal laws, we embrace the aristocratic principle in the struggle to forge for ourselves an ascending evolutionary curve, going from subman to man to superman and beyond, to claim our heroic cosmological destiny.
Black Metal is more than just music: it is an entire worldview and manner of living. It represents the rejection of the cowardly addiction to safety and comfort of postmodern decadence, the Nietzschean repudiation of conformity to the herd, the refusal to be levelled downward, the deploring of weakness and inferiority in favour of strength and the will to power. Whereas they would have us hypnotised in front of the tube, half-dozing in hypoglycaemic stupor, physically and mentally flaccid, our creative energy fading and drowning in ever-proliferating mediocrity, we wield the sword and hack through our cowering enemies, stoic in the face of hardship, joyous in our brutal strength, and fulgurating with the most radical creativity. Where they worship ignorance, obedience, and charity, we glory ruthless force and intellectual genius. Where they pull downwards, we push upwards. While they should not be, we must be. While they have been, we will be.
They are the past; we are the future.
