Iīm always intrigued how all this became so reknown when Caesarīs Campaigns in Gaul lokked more like a Blitzkrieg than anything else. Compare the time it took Rome to crush and anex Gaul with what it took them to do the same in Iberia.
All in all I feel this was Caesarīs public relations office which made this so grand. That and the XIX Century French nationalism that also made in Germany raise amongst the mortals this Arminius. Spain has done quite a bad job in showing the world the very remarkable episode it was its fight against the Romans for three hunderd years.
