I´m always intrigued how all this became so reknown when Caesar´s Campaigns in Gaul lokked more like a Blitzkrieg than anything else. Compare the time it took Rome to crush and anex Gaul with what it took them to do the same in Iberia.
All in all I feel this was Caesar´s public relations office which made this so grand. That and the XIX Century French nationalism that also made in Germany raise amongst the mortals this Arminius. Spain has done quite a bad job in showing the world the very remarkable episode it was its fight against the Romans for three hunderd years.
