Nah... your comment was way too inflammatory. This discussion though is way too serious for its own good.

I'm not defending Biggles when I say that this is a misunderstanding.
The things done by the British Empire are wrong from the perspective of most Europeans, but not from the point of an Englishman. I too think their involvments were catastrophic for Europe, and not only Europe, but the English themselves ( in the long run ). But, that's something hard to explain, and it's one of the major rifts between 'us' and 'them', and that includes any English poster which ever might come along.

But, all the European nations had their imperialistic adventures, at their own time,
the fact that Serbs did it in a time which isn't fresh in anyone's memory, or that Germans did it in a way that's popular among many members of this forum, doesn't make it automatically right and beyond discussion.

So, please let's debate with understanding for the position of the co-debater.
