Re: African village event in zoo condemned as racist
That is so weird. These sort of events even take place in the US where African-American counter-racialism is so common and no one ever says anything. I fail to see the "racism" behind a festival held in a zoo's "Africa" part, where it would look as "African" as possible with the natural habitat and animals around. I'd certainly enjoy it, be it African, Asian or whatever. In fact, in the Wildlife Conservatory in New York City, the Africa area not only has animals but has a zoo shop of its own with African themed merchandise and mock African style buildings and decors. The same goes for the other areas of it.
