Re: A More In-depth Account of Baba Yaga
In Slovakia we call her "jezibaba, bosorka, striga or also baba-jaga". In slovakian fairy tails, baba-jagas are described as old very ugly women that have meeting on the top of the hill, where they dance, eat and learn younger members to practise sorcery. They live in cottages hidden in the deep forests, with bloody walls and decorated with human skulls. "Strigy (baba-jagas)" eat people and own horses that can fly and help people. But one of the most frequented qualities is that they can fly and control weather. Thats why they are also considered to be personification of heavy clouds, to be negative aspects of airy spirits.
