I agree about teaching. Unfortunately teachers have many disadvantages such as low wages, not enough spare time, lack of respect by the students - sometimes this might be relative to the teacher's personality though - just to name a few. But as somebody else said below, teachers have the power to change young people, show them the right track if you will.
But i would like to add something here: A good teacher should not "mould" the minds of youth in any way, but rather open their minds and teach them how to think and not what to think. I guess it must be easy for an adult to influence young people on certain issues using the most convenient arguments, but forming a criterion of your own takes a lot of time and reasoning. As my Physics professor said about a month ago "Is not important to know everything, but it's important to have a criteria".

As for teaching, i think that teaching Science is more important than Arts or Social Sciences; I don't mean to say that they aren't important, not at all, they are very important. But i think it's even more important to teach how to use one's mind when young.
As the saying goes "knowledge sets you free".

Also, Engineering is a very good option since eventually Engineers are the ones who keep the country going.
Can any of you imagine what would it be like for a country nowadays to have no Engineers or qualified personnel??
