Most people that are aware of this do refuse to have a second child or are childless.
They can even sound nationalist but when it takes to go to the core, doing something, like renouncing suv and cellphones and holidays or a costly hobby they duck their head into the sand.
(At least i gave personally a try)
People do not even seem to understand that many children could support them when old, a consideration that was normal in the past: children as a future support.
They were cared for when young and would care for their elders when adult.
