First black candidate in FYROM elections6 May 2008 | 16:46 | Source: Tanjug SKOPJE -- Simon Polikarp is the first black man to stand as a candidate for the FYROM parliament.
Polikarp, of Nigerian origin, has lived in Štip, a town in eastern FYROM, for many years, and is the first candidate on the TMRO party’s list in the election district that covers the east of FYROM.
Should he gain the necessary number of votes to enter parliament, popular Jimmy, as he is known, will become the first black FYROM MP.
Jimmy is famous for appearing in adverts for the K-15 production company, speaks Macedonian, and is counting on the support from the large number of friends he has in Štip and throughout FYROM.
