Some say it is the best thing to marry a girl from your own or from the nearby village. Of course, it is not meant literally, let us expand the notion of village here to mean "a nation". It is a principle that surely helps avoiding cultural conflicts and misunderstandings within family. It is a good as a general principle, I think, although sometimes there will be some exceptions. Some people will marry outside of their nation, to someone from another nation, for different reasons. It is not problematic if it is on small scale, but it is if it is massive. There is some tendency in EU to promote as much as possible cross-cultural (I mean, inside Europe) intermingling, so as to create some average type of "Zeropean". Fostering cross-continental (ie. cross-racial) intermigling is even worse.
