The fact is such names as Diana got into relatively massive use -- it's still not widely popular -- just 20 years ago or so and are more popular with people of Armenian or Georgian descent. I don't know many ethnic Russians called Diana. It's true that most names nowadays are Greek, Roman and Biblical in source, the rest being Slavic (pre-Christian), Polish, German (ic); still Slavic, non-Christian names are experiencing a kind of revival, too -- Lada, Yaroslav (Jaroslaw), Stanislav and suchlike. Before Peter the Great ratio between Greek/Roman/Biblical names and Slavic names perhaps was not in favour of the former.
And yes, Laila is a Muslim name.
