Yes I am, and I can hardly be a victim of what you mention next, since I have no idea what it is, and since I havent decided whether to support this Basque movement. This is just discussion for me, not advocacy of anything.

No, but the real question is whether Basques are Basques without Spaniards. And since Basques have a separate language and cultural legacy, or at least claim to, are they not, in fact Basques without Spain?
Again, please dont take offense. I am only discussing, and asking some questions as to the grounds these people have for their movement.
It seems its not well looked upon when some people want independence in general, and want to create their own country. But the fact is, all it takes is a movement, and identity. That is how every nation and nation-state came into existence, so that is where we are all from. Thats why I dont see how one can oppose the genesis of a nation, except if there really are legitimate reasons to. Every nation has to start some where, even if on false grounds, that doesnt make the ethnic identity or nation any less reality. Ethnicity is always, in the end, based on identity and nothing more or less. And everything else, such as culture and language, can come both before and after identity.
