Actually, that would be marvelous. But that - unfortunately - is not going to happen if Obama gets elected. Rather more Bush-style humanitarian interventionism and global moralism, but spiced up with different, "left-wing" rhetoric, is to be expected.

Or Clinton styled interventionism - we are on the same trail of interpretation anyway. The democrats are no less interventionist than the republicans. In fact it seems that support for interventionism is even stronger in the democratic party than in the republican party. Ron Paul's candidacy proved that.
