Default Re: Should lying be a crime?

It would be foolish to attempt to criminalize lies. Even if say, we decided that it would be justified doing so, and that no lie is acceptable, even ones that could ultimately save the world from some catastrophe, determining that a person has lied can be very hard and if we criminalize it, it would happen on a societal level, and considering how much people will always "lie", it would require an extraordinary amount of resources to do so. We cant waste our time with such a foolish pursuit. Lying is not a major societal problem at this point, and if it was, we should look at the cause (spiritual deprivation) and invoke a cure, not criminalize the act/outcome.

Like the fear of weapons of mass destruction was used to get us into the war against Iraq, the economical crisis is now used to manipulate us to deliver power over monetary policy to supranational entities .. Fogh should be imprisoned for this kind of fifth column work.
