As for other problems, things need time, you can't just change society in 1 day. I'm positive things will go back to normal, many empires, civilizations, states etc. were in such times at certain point of history, when degeneration starts and other nations/tribes are slowly taking over because of the self-destruction of people who built that empire (or civilization or whatever). It's what Europe's going trough right now, it's natural that things will go back to normal. For me your question is the same as if you asked me how to put "getting our lands back" in practice.
