That's true. Dostoevsky was living in poverty all his life, Walter Scott wrote most of his novels just to pay his debts. Most of musicians was starting their career while working as dishwashers or street cleaners. I believe that true artists have to go through hell and dirt just to get where they are. Definitely not Britney Spears or Lars Ulrich's case.
