It's true that the Old church Slavonic originated from the language spoken by the Slavs in the close vicinity of today's Thessaloniki(Greek Macedonia).
It also played a significant role in the genesis of the Balkans Slavic languages.
But the language spoken by ancient Macedonians was not Slavic at all. Slavs came much later.
