I would like to make a little commentary regarding northern frenchmen, specially we Dunkerquois and also the Lillois.

I've started to hear this many times. If there is really flemish people left in my region, they are no more than 50 thousand. And i'm not talking about the hundreds of thousands of flemish migrants who entered France seeking better conditions and were quickly fusioned into french blood.
Now the flemish and the french d'oïl share a common frankish-gaulish heritage that creates a clear affinity between us. I don't even think ethnic differences can be stablished between people from Calais, Amiens, Charleroi or Antwerpen except our modern languages.
The bloodline of northern France (including the Wallonie) and Flandres is almost the same.
Therefore we "flemish francophones" are and will remain being of french ethnicity.
