Default 2008 - To live in exciting times (translation by myself!)

This is translated from the original Swedish by me. It is an article by the Swedish identitarian Oskorei. If I were you, I'd learn Swedish only so I could read his stuff. He is quite simply divine. Anyway, hopefully someone will find this interesting. I have provided some links to serve as explanations for people less familiar with Swedish society and such.

2008 - To Live in Exciting Times

2007 is nearing its end, and a new year can be seen rising in the horizon. Perhaps it is time to reflect upon what the new year might bring with it, in part concerning the larger trends, in part concerning our country specifically. These reflections will be brought to you partially by two thinkers on diametrically opposed sides of the politcal spectrum, partially in the signs of two animals. The first thinker is the Marxist Immanuel Wallerstein, who developed the so-called World System Theory where the capitalistic world is stuided as one entity/ one system. The other thinker is the Identitarian Guillaume Faye, who developed the Archeofuturist ideology, which predicts that the historical nations of Europe will be forced to find their roots again or they will perish. Both thinkers predict a time of catastrophes, which Wallerstein calls the death of liberalism and Faye calls the convergence of catastrophes. Neither of them believe that the capitalist world system will survive the next 50 years.

The Larger Historical Trends

Both Wallerstein and Faye think that the world system will be affected by ecological, economic and demographic crises in the near future. The ecological crisis is already making itself heard on the political field, and it is unlikely to change. However, it is to be doubted whether or not any concrete action can possibly be taken concerning the climate crisis before the system crashes. Besides, such action must be paid by someone, either corporations or states, and there seems to be little willingness to pick up the bill in an ever more competetive world.

The economic crisis can also begin to be noticed during 2008. Faye means that the speculation-economy can lead to stock market crash, while Wallerstein focuses more on long-term factors such as urbanization decreasing the access to cheap labour (workers from the country-side often accept very low wages since they have a farm on the side. When they move to the city, they tend to become politically active and unionize, leading to higher wages). Wallerstein also predicts an ever more anarchistic situation geo-politically, which is due to the fact that the former world hegemon and sole super-power, the United States, will begin to feel its waning position both economically and politically. Such a hegemon can be both dangerous and desperate, and it is not impossible that we will see aggressions against Iran in the coming year.

The demographic, and ethnic, crisis is a consequence of the low nativity in the wealthy North and high nativity in the poor South. It mean that Europe becomes the target of a massmigration that can only be characterised as colonization. Such developments normally lead to reaction and open conflict, and Europe's rulers have for decades used all conceivable means and measures to stop or delay the inevitable. There are no sings that they will succeed. Faye predicts that open conflicts are likely to arise, and that the European nations must either re-invent themselves and find their arhaic values if they are at all to have a chance to survive the situation (Wallerstein, for his part, thinks that the left should fight for free immigration, and with this demand he illustrates clearly that even if one has insight, one can still be an ethno-masochistic and suidical idiot). That the next year will bring with it escalating ethnic conflicts and rioting in the French suburbs and acts of terror planned, financed and executed by the foreign inhabitants in the North is assured, and there it is likely that similar events will take place in our own country. Not least if it happens to coincide with an economic crisis or escalating violence in the Middle-East.

One can also reflect over what 2008 will imply locally. There are two trends that are of great interest to the identitarian, namely the open ethnomasochism and its implications and the gradual rise of the Sweden Democrats. Both of these trends puts the identitarian against new challenges as well as new possibilities.

The Sortie of Ethnomasochists and the Entry of the Liberals

As an identitarian one has for a long time been in the comfortable situation that one's opponents have been absurd and more or less crazy. People like Masoud Kamali with his eternal nagging of "structural discrimination" and "otherification", "Centrum Mot Rasism (Center Against Racism)" that campaigns against ice creams*, or people who in all seriousness want to disallow the wearing of Sweden-shirts because it might "oppress" someone, are in many ways ideal political opponents. There are, however, signs that the more abnormal ethno-masochists and other enemies of Swedishness have gradually been given less room in the media (the same seems to apply to the more radical feminists). This tendency can be broken if the success of the Social Democrats continues, but it is likely that as an identitarian, one will have to face in increasing numbers a new breed of opponents. These opponents are liberals, and where as the ethno-masochist is directly hostile to the Swedish ethnos on the grounds of diffused thoughts of collective historical guilt, the individualist liberal is absolutely indifferent in the face of such reasoning. This indifference is illustrated in conrete politics, although it remains factually hostile, as the liberal denies the Swedish ethnos all possibilities of survival. The liberal opposes repatriation on ethnic grounds, as he/she only sees individuals and sees mass-immigration as an absolute fact

As a consequence, one can already as an identitarian benefit from studying the ideology of the new opponent. The sweet days when one debated against complete idiots can soon come to an end. At the same time one must ask what possibilities open up, what in the liberal ideology can we use to our benefit (for example ethnic kindergardens, which no individualist liberal should argue against). This tendency can, however, come to a halt.

The Rise (and Fall) of the Sweden Democrats

As the ethnic and religious conflicts predicted by both Wallerstein and Faye become ever more clear to the average citizen, the average citizen will begin to adjust to the new situation (even if with a tardiness bordering on idiocy, which has surely already assured the Swedes a place in the history books for all time). This implies in Sweden that the Sweden Democrats will increase their electoral support over 4% and enter parliament, perhaps even surpassing the Christian Democrats in size. Out of a historical perspective we must view this as an important first step, as it will bring more legimitimacy to the debate surrounding ethnicity. Att the same time we have to be conscious of the fact that the Sweden Democrats do not have the ideology which could solve the crisis of Sweden and Europe, as they are so-called "cultural nationalists" but lack deeper insight even into the Swedish culture. The ethnic question is something they are not interested in. This implies that as an identitarian one can benefit from the openings the continued success of this party provides, while at the same time making clear the differences between the politics of the Sweden Democrats and one's own politics from a more radical perspective. It also important that the opposition to multiculturalism is not reduced to one voice or one choice in a telephone questionnaire, but that new institutions are founded (everything from ethnic Swedish kindergardens to news & media outlets).

Under the signs of which animals was today's piece written, one may ask. In part under the mole, which Marx used as a metaphor to describe the progress of history during seemingly uneventful periods. The idea was that even when everything may look calm on the surface, there is a flurry of activity underground. Industries are ever closer to down fall, whole classes become malcontent, and the like, and suddenly it all becomes visible through open crisis and revolutions. But the ground has been laid by the patient mole. The same comparison can be used to describe the Swedish people, that gradually becomes ever more tired of the multicultural "society", tired of ethnomasochism and the like, something that is not visible public life but will one day, suddenly, become completely apparent.

The other animal is the North African gattopardo. The Gattopardo is an African wild cat, that gave the name for the main protagonist in the novel Il Gattopardo, which follows an aristocratic Sicilian family in a time of social and political turbulence. One of the main characters utters the undying words "if the want things to stay as they are, things will have to change," which in so many ways can be used to summarize the radical conservative atittude towards history.

With that said:

Happy New Year!

Wilpuri's note: *refers to a campaign the organization Centrum Mot Rasism started against an ice cream called Nogger black, the now infamous racist ice cream.
