Democracy? Well, in my opinion the system through which the ruling hierarchy is elected is wrong to start with.
How much does the average individual on the street know about the individuals whom he is giving his vote? And even, how much does he know of the skills and knowledge needed to effectively run any of the offices at national level?
Democracy should be exercized at local level, not at the highest levels.
