It does look ridiculous. Far from all Muslims want to dress like that though. There are plenty of secular people in the Islamic world. It's as wrong to say those ideas are representative of all Muslims as are Mormons and evangelicals of Christians. The passages in the Koran about wearing Hijab are open for interpretation.
