It's the
genius of the French language, its chirurgical precision. I remember Cardinal Ratzinger saying in 1992, while visiting France, that the French language was an intellectual instrument of an extreme precision, particularly suited for thinking. You're right
"Euro Disneyland est un Tchernobyl culturel" is a good one. I have another for you, said by Jean-Marie Le Pen in 2002, on Jacques Chirac's reelection: "Today, the Capitol has never been closer to the Tarpeian rock!". Maybe we can think of starting a new thread about famous French phrases like that.
