Actually, his representatives are the political allies of Chávez.
With regards to what you would like to perceive as Chávez's defense of his country, I have to say that you are much wrong with Chávez and that everything that will come out from Chávez's reign for Venezuela, in the long term, it will be misery. Chávez is not a patriot, but an egomaniac. A good example of the Indian oligarchs who the Spanish Conquistadors found in all of Central and South America, and who abused their own people.
