He was THE PRESIDENT. The Legendary. And, yes, The Hõbevalge (Silverwhite) (Hõbevalgem (Silverwhiter) is a kind of later appendix to it), it is a book that you cannot put away from your hands until you've read it through if you live in this part of the world.
He has been called "meie Lennart" 'our Lennart' or even "Lennu-taadu" 'Lennu-daddy' popularly, but always with full respect.
The most known anecdote about him is about how he made a cross with a pen on a Siberian river on a globe in the White House when meeting George Bush senior saying: "That's where the best fishing sites are!".
