You're probably right. But I think Errigal hit the nail on the head when he said that incorporating non-Europeans into films about European history is a subtle attempt to suggest that multiracialism is a natural thing in Europe that has been around for thousands of years. I highly doubt that the creators of this film care terribly about historical accuracy, and if they do, I would be very surprised to hear that it is historical accuracy which motivated them to incorporate non-Europeans into the film.

And, eventually, non-Europeans playing minor parts in films about European history will turn into major parts no doubt. It's already happening in some cases, such as that sub-Saharan actor playing Beowulf in the film (or was it a play?) Beowulf: Prince of the Geats which was discussed in another thread a while back. It's just sick and twisted. Nothing good can come of this.
