The problem is that during privatisation process in 1993 - 2000 in postSovietic countries the huge part of property appeared in the deep pockets of former comunist nomenclature and kgb officers. They live now extremly rich serving to the kremlin master still now, but 90 percent of lithuanians are extremly poor and survive becouse of EU support. This is why they voted in referendum for joining EU and NATO having a dream to escape from comunistic opressure. THANKS.
