Some European countries have actually come to a point in which being patriotic in the traditional state-patriotic sense of word, equals to treason of the nation. Because many states became anti-nationalistic constructs.

Rallying around the flag? Not unconditionally, but only in right situations and contexts and if the cause is a right one.

Flag waving isn't necessarily connected with nationalism.
