Default Salutes from the shores of New France

I’m also part of what some call the « Skadi migration » (though only about 10 to 20 former Skadi members joined since its closing, which is not that much) and I sincerely hope that this influx of Germanic members will be fruitful.

I’ve spent quite some time browsing this forum since I am aware of its existence (my account dates back to the end of March) and think it a vast and interesting community, of which I hope to be a “full member” despite my “alien” geographical situation.

I am a French-Canadian, or Québécois as some will probably keep telling me, born and bred in Québec. My male ancestors were farmers and fishermen hailing from Normandie (mostly), Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire and Bretagne, essentially (North-West France, to go short). I also have an Irish feminine ancestor dating back to the great migration due to the famine in Ireland, 19th century. The female side of the French-Canadian general ancestry comes from Isle-de-France; they were mostly young women taken from orphanages to populate New France.

I am interested in a whole variety of topic regarding current and historical Europe, which I won’t list here. Let’s say a great part of this forum finds an echo in me, except some narrow regional issues. I am fascinated by abstract topics of all kind.

A warm thank you,
Kurtz
