Re: Political Orientation
You guys are not fully appreciating the threat--to you as well as to me. Bush is a moron. This is no act. Did you see him in the Presidential debates? I was embarrassed that this inarticuate, know-nothing represents me. Timo, you are correct about one point: Bush, a northern Yankee, has learned Texas mannerisms, which he does even badly by California standards.
Zyklop says essentially that Bush is business as usual for the USA in its rape of planet earth. No, Bush is far more dangerous. This is so hard to explain to Europeans because what I am saying is that Bush is irrational. He is not thinking on the same wave-length that you are thinking on. He is making decisions based on his religious beliefs, "faith-based decisions". The last leader to do this led a Crusade in the Middle Ages and, unfortunately, we are involved in a crusade right now in Iraq. Bush, like other Christian Fundamentalists, believes it is his mission on earth to assist Israel in any way he can. He believes he will be judged by God when he dies on how much he has helped the Jewish people. This is one of his missions. Another is to bring "democracy" to the whole world. This democracy he has in mind is a society which you can see in some Red States. This is a church-centered, moralistic, dogmatic, dull place to end up.
Do you think you have heard the end of Bush's aggression? Do you think our military is stretched to its limit? Do you think that every soldier who would volunteer has done so by now? Well, Bush doesn't think so. He is drawing up plans to attack Iran and Cheney is saying now exactly the same words he said on the way to invade Iraq. These are mad dogs--like nothing I have ever seen in my lifetime.
One other thing implyed by the conversation above. You are all right in one thing. The American people have elected exactly the goverment they deserve.
