Another example of British Israelism was present during the Crimean War (1854-1856), when the scottish clergyman John Cumming (1807-1881) preached against Russia, comparing the czar with the biblical Gog and Magog that will destroy Israel. This remix of evangelical fanaticism and geopolitics was also present, naturally, during the Cold War.
