In fact what Ollie Rehn has done is a very low blackmail that I would have expected from a Turk, but not from a European: "either Europe accepts the Turks in, or Europe will be responsible for a forthcoming conflict."

If you think about it, it may even provide a moral pseudo-excuse for Islamics to take any action against Europe.

Ollie Rehn is talking crap. He's just obeying his neo-liberal masters..
I don't think that he obbeys his neo-liberal masters. He is one of them. His CV:

European Commission - Commissioner Olli Rehn - CV

To think that this is the ruling class of Europe leaves you with no hope.

Only Germany will have more votes then Turkey.
You are right. There are near 60 million of Turks in Turkey. It's total population is of 71-72 million, the difference being immigrants in various European countries.

That makes it even worse. With nearly 3 million ethnic Turks in Germany, German politicians will pledge to the interests of Turkey in order to gain the support of such a large sector of Germany's citizens. In The Netherlands they are some 360,000 ethnic Turks, which is a considerable number for such a small country. Add to that the other Muslim ethnic groups, which can lobby with the interests of Turkey. Austria hosts 185,000 Turks within a total population significantly smaller than that of The Netherlands and, clearly, Germany. In Bulgaria, with 760,000, they make up for about 10% of the total population.

France has 400,000, but there Maghrebians are a much larger group. Belgium 120,000 in a population of 10.5 million. Maghrebians are also a large number in Belgium. Britain has 300,000, and there the larger groups are Pakistanis and others.

To the Turks, add the Albanians. There are 450,000 in Greece. I haven't been able to find data on Italy, but there is a significant number of Albanian immigrants there. And they are spread through other countries in Europe, where they are one of the nastiest criminal ethnicities.

No European, who calls himself/herself sane can tolerate that. Imagine the situation where Turkey has a power of veto on every decision that European member states make.
I call that unacceptable and unforgivable.
Absolutely.
