The clash of civilisations already exists, so it cannot be presented as a consequence of the eventual refusal of Turkey's membership.

If Turkey becomes a member state,which I hope never happens, it will be the second most powerful member state.
Only Germany will have more votes then Turkey. No European, who calls himself/herself sane can tolerate that. Imagine the situation where Turkey has a power of veto on every decision that European member states make.
I call that unacceptable and unforgivable.
