In any case, it was a myth for the three religions. Not only for Islam and Christianism. Jews decided to serve the Christian kings when things went wrong for them in the Muslim independent kingdoms (kingdoms of Taifas, after the fall of the Caliphate). But it didn't take them long to create trouble and unrest. The attack of the Cathedral of Toledo by a Jewish mob in 1391 is just but one example.

She is the strongest denouncer of that myth, correctly dating it back to french freemasonic writers of the 19th century, who were encouraged by an anti-catholic spirit.
This myth served their fight against the church and it is deeply ingrained in french culture (see for example the famous Angelique film series from the sixties).
