I'm not sure that I understood if she defends the myth of the peaceful coexistence in Al Andalus, or if she denies it.
In any case, it was a myth for the three religions. Not only for Islam and Christianism. Jews decided to serve the Christian kings when things went wrong for them in the Muslim independent kingdoms (kingdoms of Taifas, after the fall of the Caliphate). But it didn't take them long to create trouble and unrest. The attack of the Cathedral of Toledo by a Jewish mob in 1391 is just but one example.
