This is a very bad comparison. Here is a photo of a rare meeting between the Prime Ministers of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in 1967. One is named
Jack Lynch and the other Terence O'Neill. Can anyone guess who is the Algerian and who the Pied-Noir in this version? The answer is of course that it is a meaningless question.
My point is simply that Protestant and Catholic Irishmen are not from different races or civilizations. Because of my name I've been mistaken for Catholic many times.
