Saying that Sarkozy is a neo-Gaullist is an insult to the memory of De Gaulle.
Sarkozy is the leader of the liberal wing inside the UMP (majoritary, about 80%), while the Gaullist wing is represented by Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (15-20%). Actually I think that - from a political point of view - there could be an alliance between Le Pen, De Villers and this Gaullist wing, an "Union of the Patriots" as suggested by Le Pen, which could attract up to one third of the voters and become the first political force in France.

No. Bayrou is just a liberal without the authoritarian (others say "fascist") side of Sarkozy. The fact that he is an ethnic French does not change anything. He is a centrist, I don't like people who have no real ideas of their own.
