Those are ethnic French who grew up in mostly Muslim areas, they converted to Islam so as to get accepted and/or to marry a Muslim girl (Ribéry is also married to a Moroccan woman). There are also many Black/mixed christians from the West Indies who became Muslim, like Nicolas Anelka, Tariq Abdul-Wahad (formerly Olivier Saint-Jean), ... I'm not sure about Tony Parker.
