Default Re: How we learned to stop having fun: The Depression of the Modern World

A very good article that expounds the very causes of the present day sickness of the modern society. And the whole modern Western society is sh*t anyway and now we can see the possible source these faeces actually came from in the first place. People in other parts of the world sometimes appear not to be so burdened with all kinds of pressure, more then often we point to them as to "primitives" (I don't advocate in any way a return to primitivism, but just a more natural and a more humane behaviour). But maybe our ancestors were like that and subsequently fell ill from the English Protestant malady and now we are all almost incurably sick, lonely, depressed, morose...

It has certainly something to do with the Protestant ethic, constant stupid moralizing (there is a difference between morals/ethics and moralizing), false values, mental constructs like individual success at any cost and similar. This individualism has peaked in the recent decades in Europe, both Eastern/Communist and Western/Capitalist, and it is one of the factors that lead to abandoning national identities and causing the decline of our nations.

But I don't agree with the cure proposed by the author of the article. Going back to Dionysiac rites. It isn't a solution in any way.
