Yes, Breton (a descendant of Brythonic but also of Gaulish) expanded into Gallo-speaking areas until the 12th century (the stippling in the map).
But then, from the 12th to 20th centuries, the Romance-speaking area expanded, and the Breton language is now spoken to the west of a line linking the cities of
Plouha and
Vannes, as you can see in the map :
