Maybe in time they will. You have to remember in a historical sense there really hasn't been a great stretch of time for Poland and Germany to come to terms about certian things. I'm not trying to be baised but Germany did comment some pretty inhuman acts againist the Polish people during WWII for example. You can't expect people to forgive that sort of thing in less than a century. However I agree that the EU will be a great help when it comes to smoothing over relations between to two countries.
